Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is an American-born British sitarist as well as a music producer. She was the first and the first woman to be awarded a British House of Commons Shield she's had nine Grammy Awards nominations and was the first artist of Indian of Indian descent to perform live in concert and be a presenter for the ceremony. Anoushka shankar is one of India's rising stars in the sitar. She is the child of Ravi Shankar and a former student. She was born London in 1982. In during her early years, she swam between London New Delhi. The first time she performed was on stage in New Delhi at the tender age of thirteen. In the following years the same year, in Encinitas CA she attended high school and graduated with distinction in 1999. Anouskha's career as a musician and performer is quite impressive, in spite of her age. She frequently joins her father in performances this she's done for a number of years. She released her first single album Anourag in the year 1998. The Grammy Award-winning live at Carnegie Hall was released two years after her debut solo album. Because she has performed on all the major stages in across the globe, she's performance career has been extensive. Her career extends beyond music. Bapi The Love of My Life is an illustrated biography that she composed in 2002. It is a tribute to her father who died in the year 2000. Ravi Shankar. Also, she appeared in movie in 2003. Her role was as a Bharat Natyam dancer in Dance Like a Man. The career of Anoushka Shankar is in the process of developing and she will continue to achieve great success in the future. Anoushka was raised in England, but spent most of her growing up between London in the UK and Delhi. After that, she relocated to California and enrolled in high school. In Delhi during his birthday celebrations for his 75th birthday she made her debut playing the sitar before the crowd of at the age of four, following her nine year old father. Anoushka, who accompanied her father on his worldwide tour, gained an impressive number of experiences. As a teenager, she appeared in Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD as well as recorded with George Harrison. Her talent and musicality was acknowledged by the British parliament as among the finest in Asian Arts.
